Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ smartphone in India. The company has announced that the device will arrive in the country on January 5, 2023. The brand has launched four models of the Redmi Note 12 series in China, but it is unknown whether Redmi is planning to bring all of them to the Indian market.

Display, design

The new Redmi Note series phone has a boxy design and the official images show that the device has very tiny punch-hole camera on the front. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ features a big 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display that refresh at 120Hz refresh rate. The panel has 240Hz touch sampling rate, and support for Dolby Vision as well as HDR10+. It has support for up to 900nits brightness. On paper, the device seems to have a pretty good screen.

Chipset, extras

In China, the new Redmi Note phone uses MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, which is also powering the recently Realme 10 Pro+ smartphone. The latter is priced at Rs 24,999, and we expect the company to price the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ in a similar price.

Camera

This will be India’s first phone with a 200-megapixel Samsung HPX primary sensor with f/1.65 aperture, 7P Lens, ALD coating, and OIS support. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ has a triple camera setup.
